Music Technology
Course summary
Music technology is a course which introduces you to recording, composing and producing. You will learn to use state of the art professional equipment in a way which develops you as a sound engineer and musician. The course is taught in the newly refurbished music classroom and studio. You will have your own workstation running the industry leading Pro Tools software (recently used to create the soundtrack for Star Wars). You will have the freedom to play into the software using a MIDI keyboard and also plug in electrical instruments (e.g. guitar) directly into the computer to record yourself. Lessons are normally practical workshops where students learn techniques and skills before applying them to their coursework. Course Content 1. Recording 20% 2. Technology—based Composition 20% 3.
