Course summary

BTEC Nationals are qualifications designed to develop and extend specialist work-related knowledge and practical skills in a range of sectors. BTEC Level 3 extended certificate in Business offers a stimulating and engaging programme for students who would like to pursue a career in the business sector. BTEC National is a level 3, A level equivalent qualification. It is recognised by universities and employers. This is a 2 year course that requires the completion of 3 pieces of coursework and one examination. Other skills developed Independent research skills as well as team working skills. Organisational and report writing skills as well as a greater knowledge of the recruitment process are also enhanced through studying BTEC Business Studies. Career value The BTEC qualifications in Business provide a route to employment into the many diverse areas of business. These could include roles in specialist areas such as management, marketing, finance, customer service or human resources in large organisations or a more generic role in a small local business. A student’s view "BTEC Business to me supports my decisions for after school life choices and helps replicate the business working environment. I enjoy studying BTEC because it provides me with a broader understanding of business and guides me to study business in more depth. In addition it develops my skills, knowledge and understanding of business and does this in both a practical and realistic way which i can apply to the outside environment.
