A Level (Year 13) Component 1 – Paper 1: Technical principles (2.5 hours examination) 25% of total A Level mark. Set by AQA and externally marked. Component 2 - Paper 2: Designing and making principles (1.5 hours examination) 25% of total A Level mark. Set by AQA and externally marked. Component 3: Independent Design and Make Project (Non exam assessment [NEA]) 50% of total A Level mark. This unit is based on a context and brief identified by the student. The written or digital portfolio is marked by the centre and externally moderated by AQA.
