Assessment

Component 1: Appraising music (40%) This is an exam paper with listening and written questions using excerpts of music. This will be a mix of familiar and unfamiliar music. Component 2: Performance (35%) Students must prepare a minimum of ten minutes of performance in total. The performances can be solo and/or ensemble as an instrumentalist, or vocalist and/or music production (via technology). Component 3: Composition (25%) Students must compose two compositions with a minimum requirement of four and half minutes of music. One of these compositions will be to an externally set brief.
