Paper 1: Advanced Biochemistry, Microbiology and Genetics Topics 1-7 / 90 marks, 1 hour 45 minutes. Paper 2: Advanced Physiology, Evolution and Ecology Topics 1-4 and Topics 8-10 / 90 marks, 1 hour 45 minutes. Paper 3: General and Practical Principles in Biology, Topics 1-10 / 120 marks, 2 hours 30 minutes. This paper is synoptic, assessing knowledge from any of the 10 topics along with practical skills obtained from 16 core practical’s, carried out during the 2-year course. Other appropriate practical work is carried out besides the core practicals. A 2-day fieldtrip is also undertaken to a local beach and river
