Level 1 Caring for Children

Course summary

This qualification encourages an understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children. It covers a range of units ranging from supporting babies to play to growth and development of young children. There are also units to help with self-development. This qualification will consist of a range of units which are chosen on a yearly basis from the following list: Investigating a vocational area Children’s play and leisure activities in the community Sharing learning experiences with children Healthy Living Listening to and talking with a young child Healthy eating for families Confidence building for the young child through play Musical activities for young children Growth and development of young children Practical health and safety when with young children Supporting babies to play Finding out about forest schools Preparing for your next steps Respecting and valuing young children Craft activities for young children Technology activities for young children
