Course summary
A Level Textile Design engages students in both practical and written creative studies. The course content allows individual explorations and development of each student’s: • Personal ideas through contextual research and analysis • Ability to record their ideas in a visual way • Experimentation with appropriate media, materials, techniques and processes • Ability to present a personal and meaningful response There is a strong focus on drawing, material manipulation and surface pattern design. These aspects will be the foundations of a well-rounded Textile Design portfolio. Opportunities exist for students to take part in residential Art course and gallery visits. Teachers provide extended skills workshops and one-to-one tuition as part of the course.
