Is this course for me? BTEC is a vocational course, you must have a genuine interest in H&SC, and a positive attitude to new experiences. You should also be prepared to meet deadlines, accept guidance, and develop independent study skills. The course is challenging, but very rewarding, and is excellent preparation for employment or university. What will I learn? Learning about the basics of care and the practical side of maintaining good relationships with others will provide you with useful experiences, transferable skills and abilities. BTEC Health & Social Care combines well with all A Level subjects. Candidates considering a degree in nursing or midwifery sometimes opt to take a science-based A Level. What could this course lead to? With one of a range of subjects at A Level, it supports applications for Teacher Training or Social Work. Health & Social Care provides the basis for a broad range of university courses, whether in Social Science, Education, Health Studies or other subjects. The variety of units studied provides students with a wide range of experiences and abilities, suitable for many different subjects.
