Assessment

There is a combination of both external assessment units and internally assessed coursework units which are externally moderated. External Assessment – A thorough understanding of scientific principles and practices are assessed External Assessment – Good knowledge in working in a laboratory including the importance of health and safety in the laboratory are assessed Internal Assessed units – Knowledge of hazards encountered in typical laboratory and how to maintain a safe working environment, determining the concentration of an acid or base using titration, separating techniques such as Chromatographic techniques, identifying bacteria using gram stain.
