Health and Social Care - Vocational (equivalent to 1 A-Level)

Assessment

The Certificate is equivalent to one A-Level and the Diploma is equivalent to two, both are completed over two years. The three units for the certificate are: - Principles of health and social care (exam) - Person-centred approach to care (coursework) - Supporting people with mental health conditions (coursework). The units for the Diploma are the same as the certificate but with the added units of: - Anatomy and physiology for health and social care (exam) - Supporting people in relation to sexual health, pregnancy and postnatal health (coursework) - Supporting healthy nutrition and lifestyles. Assessments are through assignment-based coursework and by examinations. The assignments are continuous throughout the course with a variety of written reports, reflective journals, presentations, discussions and written tests. 30 hours of work experience will be undertaken.
