Course summary
A Level PE provides a well-rounded introduction to the world of sports and physical education. You will learn about the physical, psychological, and social aspects of sports while developing your own skills as a performer or coach. Key areas of study include: • Applied Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding the body’s systems and how they relate to performance. • Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics: Exploring how the body moves and reacts to exercise. • Skill Acquisition: Learning how athletes develop and refine skills. • Sports Psychology: Investigating the mental factors that influence performance. • Sport and Society: Examining the role of sport in culture and contemporary issues in physical activity. You will also have the opportunity to focus on one sport, either as a performer or coach, for the practical unit.
