Higher Level Diploma in Geography

Assessment

The assessment is 75% external examination through two exam papers at the end of the second year. There is also an internal assessment worth 25% of their final grade based on a written report of their own piece of historical research. Students will be examined with three papers and one geographic investigation. This will involve fieldwork on a local scale and involve the collection of primary information. The chosen topic may be physical or human, or may integrate the two approaches. The internal assessment is completed as one 2500 word report.
