Course summary

A selection of texts will be explored and discussed through clear focus on genre. A minimum of eight texts will be studied including: Shakespeare, poetry, prose and drama – at least two texts will be pre-1900. Core content: 4.1 Literary genres, 4.2 Texts and genres, 4.3 Theory and independence Option 1: 4.1.1 Aspects of tragedy or 4.1.2 Aspects of comedy Option 2: 4.2.1 Elements of crime writing or 4.2.2 Elements of political and social protest writing
