Course summary

Geography is an incredibly important subject as it allows a deep appreciation of how the human world impacts on the physical environment. At A level, the chosen topics provide a broad and balanced look at contemporary geographical problems such as climate change, poverty, deprivation, global shifts in economic power and the challenge of sustainable resource use. Students who study Geography at A Level develop many skills such as literacy, numeracy, IT and verbal communication. The exploration of case studies within high, middle and low income countries also creates a curiosity and an awareness of different viewpoints, values and attitudes from the local to a national scale.
