Individual Oral (IO) - 20%: You’ll deliver a 10-minute recorded presentation analyzing how a global issue is explored in one literary and one non-literary text. Paper 1: Guided Textual Analysis - 35%: This paper requires you to analyze an unseen non-literary text or texts. Your analysis will focus on its structure, style, and context, presented as either a comparative or standalone essay. Paper 2: Comparative Essay - 25%: For Higher Level students only, this paper involves a comparative analysis of two literary works you’ve studied in class, responding to a specific essay prompt. Higher Level Essay - 20%: Also for Higher Level students, this is a substantial 1,200- 1,500 word essay on a topic you choose, related to a literary work or text you’ve studied.
