Assessment

A balance is maintained between Physical and Human Geography with an emphasis on the interaction between these and the environment. In Year 12 all students will study Coasts, Water and the Carbon Cycle, and Changing Places. In Year 13 the units are Hazards, Global Systems and Global Governance, and Population and the Environment. Across both years, geographical and general skills are embedded into the course. And there are field trips! We do 4 days of fieldwork, including residential stays and this leads on to the independent investigation element of the course, a piece of coursework which accounts for 20% of the final grade.
