Assessment

Paper 1: Listening, reading and translation into English. Paper 2: Written response to film/ literary works and translation into Spanish. Paper 3: Speaking. The main themes covered throughout Y12 and 13 are: • Aspects of Hispanic society • Artistic culture in the Hispanic world • Multiculturalism in Hispanic society • Aspects of political life in Hispanic society Students also study a work of Spanish literature and a Spanish film over the two year course which could include Maria, Ilena eres de Gracia, Laberinto del Fauno and Como Agua para chocolate. Alongside lessons students have weekly speaking sessions with the Spanish Language Assistant who helps students to develop their confidence and skill levels in spoken Spanish
