
This course is designed to prepare students for specific careers in business. This means that you can tailor your studies to your career aspirations and gain relevant skills and knowledge along the way in areas such as Finance, Marketing, Human Resources and Operations Management. Our course really focuses on the vocational aspects of Business so you will find a lot of teaching is based on case studies, application to a variety of different businesses, visiting speakers, role plays and visits to industry. Business vocational education also provides students with broader work-based skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and leadership, which are essential in any career. Everyone taking this qualification will study three mandatory units . They are : ● Exploring the Business Environment ● Developing a Marketing Campaign ● Personal and Business Finance The optional units have been designed to support choices in progression to business courses in HE, and to link with relevant occupational areas. They cover content areas such as: ● human resources ● accounting ● marketing ● law
There are no subject specific entry requirements. Students need to have an average point score of 3.6. Studying Business at a GCSE level is desirable, but is not essential.
Students will be assessed using external examinations, internal testing, practical tasks, role-play, and project-based assignments.
