Course summary

This course involves 168 UCAS points - equivalent to 3 A Levels This is a vocational Music course that is very practical, with a focus on preparing young performers for entry into the Music industry. The assessments are a balance of practical development alongside research, planning and self reflection that will allow students to become independent learners and know how to reach their musical potential. The course requires students to: Perform effectively on their instrument/voice Rehearse and display musicianship skills Initiate and develop repertoire Rehearse effectively and perform music live Understand contextual issues relating to music style, audience and the music industry Confidently use music technology to realise compositions There are four bands of assessment: Unclassified, Pass, Merit and Distinction
