AS level and A level Components 1, 2 and 3 are each assessed by a 2 hour written examination. Each component equals 33⅓ % of the qualification. The exams comprise of short and long answers, which are marked on 3 Assessment Objectives (Knowledge and Understanding; Analysis; Communication).
