Course summary
Students will study the four main functional areas of business: Marketing, Human Resources, Finance and Production. In addition to this, they will study a wide range of other topics, such as entrepreneurial characteristics, business ownership, franchises, stakeholders, business plans, risk and reward, supply and demand, international trade and globalisation, the European Union, change management and contingency planning, and external influences such as political, economic, social, technological, ethical and legal factors. Students will analyse how businesses currently behave and make suggestions on future decisions. This may include how to recruit or motivate employees, how to advertise a new product, or how to secure the finance needed for starting or expanding a business.
