Extension Studies - Maths for Chemistry

Course summary

Experience tells us that if you are taking Chemistry but not Maths you may struggle with the mathematical aspect of the course. All required mathematical skills can be covered along with the subject content in an integrated fashion. However, as assessment of the mathematical skills makes up a significant proportion of the overall assessment, this course aims to improve understanding and application of the mathematical concepts as a matter of course, in order to discover and address any difficulties that may arise. You will have the opportunity and time to exercise your numeracy skills as well as algebra and practice in manipulating equations. You will become adept at using logs and problem solving, involving the use of mathematics from different areas of maths.
