Mental Health - Level 3
Course summary
The Level 3 Mental Health course has been developed to provide knowledge, understanding and skills that will help prepare learners for progression to undergraduate study or for working in the mental health and wellbeing, within the broader health and social care sector. Skills pupils will acquire through the course include: • Communicating and collaborating effectively with individuals and groups. • Critical thinking and problem solving • Researching topic areas independently and recording research sources, then using them to interpret findings and present evidence • Decision making and making recommendations • Time management The subject encourages pupils to enhance their knowledge of: Mental health and wellbeing, the brain and body. Factors influencing mental health and wellbeing. Models of mental health, mental health issues and disorders and strategies for managing mental health and wellbeing. This qualification complements A Levels and Level 3 qualifications in: • Psychology • Sociology • Business • Health and Social Care • Human biology
