Geography is the study of the Earth’s people, landscapes and environments. Geography is one of the most wide-ranging and diverse subjects and is unique in bridging the social sciences (Human Geography) with the natural sciences (Physical Geography). You will engage critically with real-world issues and places and apply your own geographical knowledge, understanding and skills to make sense of the world around you. Course structure: Paper 1: 2 hour exam (30%) Dynamic Landscapes Paper 2: 2 hour exam (30%) Landscape Systems, Processes and Change Paper 3: 1hr 45mins exam (20%) Physical Systems and Sustainability Coursework: Independent Investigation (20%) Written report of 3,000–4,000 words Four-day residential field trip to South Wales. This is a requirement of the Geography Specification and we anticipate the trip costing approximately £300. (Bursary students can request support from the Bursary Fund.) Complementary courses: Sociology, Politics, Philosophy, English Literature, History, Economics, Languages and Sciences. Leads to: Jobs linked to the environment, planning and other areas of society.
