Physics is the study of the world around us and the fundamental laws that govern it, from the sub-atomic world of quantum physics to the furthest reaches of the Universe. You will study the theory in context: calculations involving real-life situations, modelling of abstract concepts and discussion of some of the biggest questions in science. Course structure: Units include Measurements and their Errors, Particles and Quantum Physics, Waves, Mechanics and Materials, Electricity, Harmonic Motion, Gas and Thermal Physics, Field Theory, Nuclear Physics, Turning Points in Physics. 3 x 2-hour exams at the end of Year 13, plus a minimum of 12 required practicals.
