Why study Health and Social Care at William Farr? Health and Social Care is a new course introduced in September 2025, designed for students interested in careers such as nursing, midwifery, paramedic science, social care, or early years education. The course explores real-world challenges faced by individuals and communities and develops an understanding of best practice within the Health and Social Care sector. You will study the principles that underpin health and social care, key aspects of anatomy and physiology, and why some individuals require additional support. There are strong cross-curricular links with subjects such as Psychology, Biology, and Sociology. At William Farr, Health and Social Care is taught within the Faculty of Science, giving you access to expert teachers for the biology components and an exceptionally well-resourced department.
