Course summary

Sociology is the study of society, social behaviour, and the structures and institutions that shape people’s lives. Sociology at ICS encourages students to question the world around them and to explore how factors such as class, gender, ethnicity, power, culture, and globalisation influence identity, inequality, and social change. Our curriculum develops students’ understanding of key sociological theories, research methods, and contemporary social issues. Students learn to analyse evidence, debate different perspectives, and apply sociological thinking to real-world problems at local, national, and global levels. No prior study of Sociology is required
