Why study Travel and Tourism at William Farr? A BTEC in Travel and Tourism is designed for students who are passionate about exploring destinations, understanding global cultures, and delivering exceptional customer experiences, this practical qualification gives you the skills the industry is looking for. You’ll learn how travel businesses operate, how to plan trips and events, and how to provide outstanding service – all through real-world scenarios and hands-on experience. What will I study? You’ll explore topics with a combination of classroom teaching, project work and site visits. Students get involved in their subject, using independent learning and teacher guidance to meet the requirements of the course. You will study the concepts of tourism and promotion, marketing, technology and destination. Assessments are a mixture of classic assessments, presentations and project briefs. Each Unit of our BTEC targets a theme: Unit 1 is The world of Travel and Tourism; Unit 2 is global destinations, which is assessed as a mixed assessment with information analysis; Unit 3 is coursework, a series of presentations, mini projects and reports to cover the principles of marketing in Travel and Tourism; and the final unit, tackles Global destinations through a coursework project that is guided throughout the unit. It’s a fantastic balance of exam and project work, all with a real-life, practical slant.
