Art & Design: 3D Design/Graphic Communication
Course summary
Students can choose to follow a range of project pathways all of which explore practical and critical/contextual work through a range of processes and media. The routes students explore are: Three-dimensional Design (H605): Students might choose to pursue projects in product design, architecture, sculptural work, animation and other design disciplines that have three dimensional outcomes. Students use a wide range of drawing techniques and modelling materials to realise their designs. Graphic Communication (H602): This will offer a range of different approaches to graphic design that include a personal selection and exploration of disciplines such as illustration, advertising, branding, typography and packaging. The OCR Level 3 Advanced GCE in Art and Design consists of two components, 60% personal portfolio and 40% externally set task. Both are teacher assessed and externally moderated by OCR. THE FUTURE: Studying this course can lead to opportunities for studying courses in Graphic Design, Architecture, Interior and Product Design, Illustration, Animation and Computer Game Design as well as many other related courses at higher education.
