GCSE Economics
Course summary
Economics is about – not money, as people tend to think – but about choices. Humans have unlimited wants but limited resources – so what do we do with the resources we have, and how do we decide? We explain the causes (and hopefully solutions) between some of the most important stories in the country and the world – inflation, unemployment, boom and recession, international trade – as part of macroeconomics. We also look at microeconomics – what is money? How is the price of goods determined? And why do some businesses dominate their markets? Economics is for any student who likes to think logically, ask questions about the world around us, and explain themselves clearly and accurately. It goes well with Mathematics and any of the humanities or social sciences
