Sociology

Course summary

Sociology will appeal to students who are interested in people, how they function and how they interact with one another. Students will learn to evaluate the sociological theories and investigations of various scholars. Focussing on contemporary society, students will also develop academic skills in interpreting, analysing and evaluating sociological ideas in depth. Topic areas studied are: education, families and households, beliefs in society and crime and deviance, together with sociological theory and methods.
