Paper 1: Telling Stories – a written exam of 3hrs, worth 40%. Three questions on set texts (prose and poetry), and an closed book anthology task. Paper 2: Exploring Conflict – a written exam of 2hrs 30 minutes, worth 40%. A creative writing element, including a commentary, and one question on a set drama text. Open book. NEA Component – 2500-3000 coursework essay in which a personal investigation is taken that explores a specific technique or theme in both fiction and non-fiction writing.
