Course summary

Students will study the AQA Full course entitled ‘Study of religions: beliefs, teachings and practices’ and ‘Thematic studies’ which consider and evaluate Christian, Jewish and secular views on belief, practices and their role within society as well as scientific, theological and philosophical topics such as the arguments for the existence of God; the existence of the Universe and the value of human life. Students will complete the following units: Beliefs, teachings and practices of Christianity and Judaism: The nature of God Worship and festivals The role of religion in local and worldwide society. Religious, philosophical and ethical studies: The origins of the universe and human life The arguments for and against the existence of God Peace and conflict Crime and Punishment
