Entry Requirements

If you choose PE we will decide which course is best suited for you, so that you can achieve the highest grade possible. The GCSE PE course is more suited to pupils who are very good practically, scientifically and good with exams. The Sports Studies course is more suited to pupils who are better at doing coursework than examinations. Both courses are very similar and they are worth the same as any other GCSE. This course builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills established in Key Stage 3 Physical Education. It will give you exciting opportunities to be involved in a number of different physical activities, promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. You should have an interest in physical education and sport, enjoy being active and appreciate the benefits of keeping fit and healthy. The GCSE PE subject will help with your Science levels as a lot of the things learnt are the same. > Your attainment, behaviour and effort levels at Key stage 3 in PE lesson > Must be taking part in Extracurricular commitments for the school and outside of the school in the relevant sports mentioned on the last page > Recent Year 9 Exam Results - all the questions were from past GCSE papers 54% or higher > Target grade in English and Science of a G4 or higher at the end of Year 9 - On course to meet that target - Currently on that target grade of G4+
