Course summary
This two year course is an exciting exploration of a dynamic and interconnected world. Students will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of human and physical geographies and develop investigative and analytical skills. Students will have four opportunities to complete fieldwork, where data will be collected, analysed and presented in preparation for the Non-Examined Assessment. This includes investigating coastal processes along the Holderness coastline, regeneration and change in Kelham Island and hydrology in the Peak District or surrounding area. Course Content In Year 12: • Physical Geography: Hazards, Water and Carbon Cycles • Human Geography: Contemporary Urban Environment • Geography Fieldwork Investigation and Skills In Year 13: • Physical Geography: Water and Carbon Cycles, Coastal Systems and Landscapes • Human Geography: Global Systems and Global Governance, Changing Places • Independent Investigation (Non-Examined Assessment)
