Course summary
The course covers many areas of mathematics and enables the students to acquire knowledge and skills with confidence, satisfaction and enjoyment. This involves studying Pure Mathematics as a continuation and development of GCSE work and developing skills to model real-life situations mathematically in Mechanics and Probability & Statistics. The course inherently develops the key transferable skills of solving problems from a variety of starting points. We involve our sixth form mathematics students in extra-curricular activities such as the UKMT Senior Mathematics Challenge. It is hard, but you get a lot out of it if you persevere.” Mathematics Pure Mathematics - focusing on trigonometry, calculus, algebra and geometry. Mechanics and Statistics - for applying the knowledge from the Pure Mathematics topics into real world situations
