Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths)

Course summary

Core Maths is a comparatively new course which leads to a level 3 qualification. It helps you maintain and extend valuable maths skills from GCSE and apply them to areas within finance and statistics within real-life scenarios. The course includes maths for personal finance, for example: Interest rates, credit, taxation, and financial problems; The analysis and use of data; Estimation; and some statistical techniques. Studying Core Maths will support the mathematical content of some other subject areas, in particular: Biology, Business & Economics, Geography, Health & Social Care, Psychology, Sociology, and Sports Science.
