HomeSchool Profile

Welcome to Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School

I am incredibly proud of the students and staff here at Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School. Our school embodies our core values of ambition, collaboration, steadfastness, and kindness. We are dedicated to providing the best possible education for our learners.

While no one chooses to be in hospital, we strive to keep our students connected to their educational journeys from the moment they arrive until the reintegration process begins. Our students continually demonstrate their ambition and desire to achieve, despite their circumstances. We are committed to mirroring their ambition and going the extra mile to help them stay engaged with learning.

At Maudsley and Bethlem Hospital School, we offer a personalised curriculum tailored to each student's unique needs through our Learning Pathways. This approach ensures that we map out each student's curriculum intent, providing a broad and balanced curriculum that encompasses academic excellence, personal development, and career readiness. We also prioritise enhancing our students' access to cultural capital opportunities, enriching their educational experience.

Additionally, we are an exam centre, and if your child is with us during an exam season, they will have the opportunity to sit their exams in a calm and supportive environment.

I am also proud to announce that our school has been awarded the RACE Charter Mark. One aspect of this is recognition of our commitment to a diverse and inclusive curriculum. Our updated Curriculum Policy ensures pupils receive an education that reflects the UK's rich and varied history, along with the diverse heritages of our students. We are dedicated to including marginalised sources of knowledge, representing a range of global and historical perspectives, and aligning our learning content with global frameworks.

We will allocate a Key Teacher to your child who will be your main contact point with the school, but all of our highly experienced staff will support your child during their time with us.  We will work closely with home schools, the local authority, our hospital partners, and, of course, you.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about your child's education while they are attending our school.
