Welcome to Marlborough School
On behalf of the students, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to our school. Marlborough School is a split site secondary special school for 85 students with severe and complex needs in the London Borough of Bexley. Our site at Marlborough Park Avenue is for 60 students on our Orchard and Meadow pathways aged 11-19. Our Marlborough Legacy site is within the ground of Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School, and is for 25 students on our Legacy pathway aged 14-19.We are very proud of our students’ achievements and are delighted to share these with our community. We hope you enjoy exploring our site and looking at the range of events and learning that take place throughout the year.We believe that 'every moment is a learning opportunity' and utilise a holistic approach to our curriculum and assessment. Our aim is to enable our students to thrive and prepare them fully for adulthood, and deliver excellent outcomes for all. Our staff team are committed to providing a happy, safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment, rich in creativity, challenge and cultural development. We provide learning experiences that engage and inspire and are personalised to meet the individual needs of all our students. Our students are a real pleasure to teach and we are very proud of their successes. We are also dedicated to supporting SEND practice beyond our school and engage in networks both locally and nationally in order to share and learn from each other. In May 2024 through Challenge Partners, Marlborough School was awarded an Area of Excellence for Positive Proactive Strategies To Support The Wellbeing Of Pupils With Complex SEND. We also provide an outreach service to support students with EHCPs in mainstream schools in Bexley, providing CPD and support in collaboration. Please feel welcome to contact us if you would like any further information, or to arrange a visit.Kind regardsLiz Dr Elizabeth Smith, Headteacher
