Welcome to St Mary's Catholic High School
I am proud of the Sixth Form at St. Mary’s and the opportunities it provides for our students. It is a vibrant, supportive learning environment underpinned by the school's mission statement, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This demonstrates our commitment to developing well rounded, self-assured and well qualified individuals who are well prepared for the exciting challenges as they leave us.As the Head of Sixth Form, I am responsible for leading and managing the Key Stage 5 team with a focus on curriculum, tracking progress, pastoral care and supporting transition. The wider team includes a Pastoral Manager and a Head of Year, who work closely with the school pastoral and careers teams to ensure all students meet their potential, get the grades they deserve and have a clear plan when they leave us.The Sixth Form team work closely with our colleagues in Key Stage 4 to ensure that the transition to the Sixth Form is smooth and informed. We also work with external candidates to ensure that they feel settled and comfortable in their new surroundings. This supports every student to achieve success and happiness in their studies. The St Mary’s Futures Programme supports all Key Stage 5 students in progressing to university, apprenticeships or work. They have access to workshops, lectures, seminars and trips tailored to their potential and goals. Inclusive and inspiring, the programme equips every student with the skills and experiences needed for future success. The Sixth Form at St. Mary’s is unique:We deliver high class teaching which ensures excellent resultsWe support students both academically and pastorallyOur curriculum offer allows students to choose from a wide variety of A Level and vocational coursesOur Level 2 courses ensure we can offer a pathway to all studentsWe have an Open Evening each Autumn but I am happy to answer questions or meet with prospective students and their parents throughout the year.
