Welcome to Talbot Specialist School

Talbot Specialist School provides education for young people who have severe and complex learning difficulties. Our aim is that all our students make the best progress they possibly can, and for them to play a full and active part in the life of the school, and in their communities. Our staff team works creatively with our students to deliver imaginative and exciting learning opportunities. We offer an aspirational, personalised, and multi-sensory curriculum designed to ensure that students are successful and enjoy their learning. We also offer a range of appropriate qualifications including Asdan Units and Entry Level. Our mission statement:“In the Talbot learning community, young people are educated to become valued, resilient, and fulfilled members of their community and equipped to reach their potential.” We consider our most important partners to be the parents/carers of the young people in our school and we want to work closely together with our families.I know I speak for the whole staff team when I say we are immensely proud of the students at Talbot, both of their achievements and also their tenacity. Whether it is in creative and performing arts, outdoor learning, through sports, or working in the classroom they always give of their best and their enthusiasm shines through.Heather Partington Headteacher
