Welcome Message

Addington School is an Outstanding Special School and a founding member of Ascendancy Partnership Trust.

All of our pupils have an Education and Health Care Plan and we currently have 310 pupils across both sites, aged between 3 and 19 years. We cater for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities and Addington is split across two sites; Main Site - Woodley, Early Years Centre - Farley Hill.  All of our pupils’ have a primary need of severe learning difficulty or profound and multiple learning difficulty. I hope that you find this website informative and that it gives you a picture of our pupils, curricula, facilities and services.

We are very fortunate to have a purpose-built environment that meets the needs of our SLD and PMLD learners. In response to continuing demand for spaces we opened the Early Years Centre in 2023.

We are committed to delivering an outstanding education for your child to ensure that he or she reaches their full potential. To do this we encourage our families to work in partnership with a shared goal of excellent outcomes for all. We  have NHS therapists on site who support to deliver therapy following an integrated model.

Most importantly, we believe in a positive ethos based on mutual respect where we are all learning together to be 'a community committed to excellence and the development of the potential of all’.
