To be the head teacher of Broadfield Specialist School is a tremendous privilege. On a daily basis I work alongside our team of remarkable staff that are extremely talented and highly experienced.Since moving to our new site in Burnley the opportunities and facilities for our students have significantly improved and evolved. I still feel great pride at obtaining this building for our SEND students as they definitely deserve these opportunities and this environment.I am very passionate about increasing links with our local community, as I am also keen for parents and carers to feel an integral part of our school community. The most wonderful thing about our school is our fascinating and inspirational young people. We promote attendance at these clubs to develop hobbies and additional skills during break and lunch times. The clubs provided are led by staff, who are particularly passionate about such extra-curricular opportunities and thrive when helping the students to develop skills required. Not only do the extra-curricular activities provided at Broadfield help develop skills at the core of the activity, but they also support students to develop an array of social, emotional and mental health skills.
