Welcome to Spring Hill High School

Welcome to Spring Hill SchoolSpring Hill High School is a Special School in Birmingham for students with social, emotional and mental health needs, mild to moderate learning difficulties and/or autism aged 11-19 years. Some of our students present with behaviour that challenges and we strongly believe that all behaviour is a form of communication. We are a small school that is registered for 50 students and this allows us to maintain some individual and small class teaching with a high ratio of teachers and teaching support assistants who get to know our students really well as individuals and personalise the learning for them. In July 2025 we were rated Good by OFSTED.At Spring Hill High School, part of Gracebridge Care and Education, we recognise that our students have many barriers to learning and so we aim todeliver a curriculum that offers motivation and purpose for each individual and builds on and celebrates each small step of progress. Our curriculum is designed to give our students a breadth of quality learning experiences that enrich their lives, whilst also building on key communication, functional, social and life skills that will better equip them for life outside and beyond Spring Hill High School. We strongly value the relationship we have with our parents, carers and other professionals and recognise that effective partnerships are essential. So that we are best equipped to meet the diverse learning, communication and mental health needs of our students and support them to overcome or manage their barriers to learning.Parents and carers are always most welcome into school to help or to discuss their child’s progress or any matters of concern. We achieve this by providing a bespoke learning environment which provides a safe place for young people to mature and become more confident individuals.Gary EdmundsHeadteacher
