Regular Sixth Form lectures are held in the impressive 240 seat interactive lecture theatre and cover a variety of useful topics such as: • Study skills • Revision strategies • Planning a gap year • Choosing the right university • Completing your UCAS form • Preparing your CV • Interview technique • Gaining an Apprenticeship Guest speakers are invited to give lectures, including university admissions officers and independent careers advisers.
We believe all students have their own talents, skills and attributes which we want to help nurture and stretch in readiness for the challenges ahead in life. At Bede Academy, we offer all Sixth Formers the chance to attend a wide range of ‘Skills’ sessions that will build up their skill set, experience and confidence for the coming years. Sessions offered include: • Understanding student finances • Basic DIY • Banking • Healthy cooking
All students are encouraged to make full use of the Academy’s outstanding sports and recreation facilities: • Full-size sports hall for basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton and 5-a-side • Full-size floodlit Astroturf for hockey • Extensive playing fields for rugby, football, cricket and athletics • Five tennis courts • Dance and aerobics studio • Fitness gym with a range of state-of-theart cardio-vascular exercise machines with a personalised training programme for every student • Duke of Edinburgh’s Award A large number of sports teams hold practices after academic lessons each day. All students have PE in their weekly timetable, but may opt for community service.
