Extra-curricular

Creativity is important to Oasis Academy Brightstowe. We feel that helping students develop skills and talents outside of their academic interests broadens them as individuals.
Duke of Edinburgh Awards

The Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme is designed to develop character and employability skills outside the classroom, and to instill an appreciation of the natural world. The awards require students to engage in a physical activity, skilled activity and volunteering activity, as well as undertake a camping expedition, and runs at three levels, Bronze, Silver and Gold.

Rugby Academy

The Rugby Academy aims to provide students with an opportunity to develop qualities such as discipline, resilience and independence alongside improving their rugby skills. Students will be given rewards and opportunities including trips and guest coaching sessions from professional players. The students will also receive conditioning sessions and the opportunity to join Bristol Rugby players development programme.

Music Academy

Our Music Academy has been developed in order to be a centre of excellence for music that raises the aspirations, improves motivation and self-esteem and increases outcomes for students. The Music Academy has been set up to support students who demonstrate this strong commitment to excellence in order to help them develop their talents. It exists not only to help provide dedicated tuition but to facilitate opportunities to showcase their abilities in a variety of performance situations.
