Welcome to Towers School and Sixth Form Centre

Towers Sixth Form is a thriving environment in which to learn and develop as a young adult. With over 200 students studying a wide range of subjects over the course of 2 years, Towers Sixth Form aims to generate a bespoke timetable to suit the needs of each individual in order to prepare them for the next phase of their education or entry into the workplace. Towers Sixth Form is a very popular choice for students from other schools and colleges who settle quickly, make friends and succeed in their studies. At Towers Sixth Form our students are prepared for further education, with a high percentage progressing to University. Where the workplace is the chosen path, support is at hand to ensure a smooth and successful transition. We offer a range of A Level and BTEC courses as well as Level 2 and GCSE Maths and English. At Towers Sixth Form students have an increased amount of independent study time, giving them greater responsibility for shaping their own future. Each student will also have an enrichment programme scheduled around their lessons in order to enhance study and gain further life skills. We will work closely with you and support you in achieving your goals. We have a full time dedicated team who will assist you with applying to University via UCAS as well as securing you apprenticeships and work placements.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
To enhance our students’ experience at the school, we are delighted to offer a range of fun enrichment opportunities, both internally and externally. The objective of enrichment is to: - Widen pupils’ intellectual experiences - Improve independent learning skills - "Light a fire" within pupils - Offer them the opportunity to study a variety of options of their choice in something they would not have had a chance to study otherwise. The school expects all students from every year group, to attend at least 1 enrichment activity/club on a weekly basis each term. They will however be able to change their options after each term.

Student Leadership Team
Our Student Leadership Team is made up of two Head Students, two Deputy Head Students, a Year 13 Leadership Team and a Year 12 Leadership Team. To join the student leadership team, students must submit an application and attend an interview; those who wish to apply for the Head or Deputy Head positions will also deliver a presentation.
Subject Ambassador Programme
led by Mrs Carter and runs in two waves: September to February and February to July. Subject Ambassadors support in one lower school lesson, per week, in a subject of their choice. Our subject Ambassadors begin by TAing for the teacher but can also lead to students working 1:1 with a younger student or leading the knowledge check section of the lesson.
Football Refereeing
Led by our Sports Captain, our football referees complete a lunchtime duty on the 3G refereeing for Yr 8 ‐ 11 football matches. Our refs ensure all lunchtime football games are played fairly and the rules are abided by at all times!
