Employed

Since leaving school in 2017, I took a
bit of time out to decide what I
wanted to do next and soon realised
the apprenticeship route was for me.
I came across an apprenticeship
provider in Hull, applied and within a
few weeks I landed an interview here
and it's honestly been one of the best
things I've ever done. I have been on
numerous courses within the business
and was even lucky enough to be
offered a promotion at the start of
this year.

University

My name is Jess Khan and I graduated from South Hunsley
Sixth Form in 2019. I studied Maths, Physical Education and
Biology.

I am currently studying law at Newcastle University and hope
to complete my degree before doing a masters. I hope to go
into a challenging career where I can put everything I have
learned into use to fuel a law- based occupation. Although my
Alevel subjects don't specifically link in with my degree, my
time at South Hunsley made me gain many skills through my
lessons, the teachers and my friends. The sixth form teachers
were incredibly helpful in all areas of study, and helped me
manage my private life and hobbies with my work as it was
quite demanding. I can't thank them all enough to help me
reach where I am today!

Apprenticeship

After quite an eventful year, I have
landed myself an apprenticeship at
Coversure Insurance in Hessle. Over the
next three years I will gain a level six
qualification - the equivalent of a
degree!

I was actually offered my
apprenticeship over Linkedln after
advertising (during lockdown!) that I
was looking for a job within the financial
sector.
