Extra-curricular
CGS Students are encouraged to enjoy, achieve and belong and we believe that taking part in extra curricular clubs and activities is an important part of school life.
Music and drama are important elements of CGS life, helping students to enjoy, achieve and belong. There is a strong tradition of performing arts at CGS. Our annual school show, music concerts and House Performing Arts competition all enable students to get involved.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is the UK’s premier programme for youth personal development, and CGS enrols roughly 130 students annually. The Bronze level of the Award is offered to Year 10 students, while Gold is offered in Year 12, regardless of prior participation in the programme. Unlike most other activities offered through the school, students are not directly taught or led by staff – they lead themselves!
A UK-based national charity that delivers enterprise and financial education to students, empowering them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in the world of business and manage finances. It supports students to set up and run a business.; understand their attitudes to risk through real-life financial scenarios.
