Welcome Message

A warm welcome to our Sixth Form.

Sixth Form education provides a crucial transition between a student’s education in Years 7 to 11, and their steps into university, employment or further training on leaving school. We recognise that this is a stage of paramount importance in students’ lives.
The aim of our Sixth Form is to ensure the best possible learning experience for you and to provide an environment where you are encouraged to achieve both academic success and to develop
your wider skills and talents, ensuring that you are fully prepared for the life that awaits you following Sixth Form.

Enrichment Activities

Show all activities
As part of our enrichment curriculum all Sixth Form students undertake volunteering within our school community, often as sports leaders, reading mentors, or by providing support in specific subject areas. As well as making a hugely positive contribution across the school, this provides a distinctive competitive edge in applications for Higher Education or employment following Year 13.

Gold Level Industrial Cadets Award

The Gold Level Industrial Cadets Award is a program that links a team of 4-6 students with mentors in a local firm - last year Goffs Academy was paired with GlaxoSmithKline Plc. Students meet on a regular basis and design a project that meets the brief set by the company to meet a need. Whereas most meetings are virtual, there is potentially an opportunity to visit the mentors' site and plans, Covid permitting, for a residential either at Cambridge University or at UCL to construct prototypes for models. This is an ideal programme not just for those who are interested in engineering but also for those studying product design.

Extended Project Qualification

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is a fantastic opportunity for our most ambitious students to give themselves an edge for university applications and job opportunities. It is offered to all students on Pathway 1 and Pathway 2 within Sixth Form.

Duke of Edinburgh

At Goffs Academy students are able to complete their Bronze (Year 10) and Silver (Year 12) Duke of Edinburgh’s award. The D of E award is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain valuable transferable skills. It is an excellent chance for students to get involved with learning a new skill, volunteering, doing a physical activity as well as completing an expedition, where they are self-sufficient. The award is a fantastic way for students to develop confidence in a variety of skills and to build their resilience.

Goffs Business Academy

The Goffs Business Academy is an excellent opportunity for students who are keen to develop their employability skills and gain experience of a professional environment. This will allow students to combine their academic studies with:

Goffs Sports Academy

The Goffs Sports Academy allows students to gain a qualification in Sports Leadership. Participants will learn and demonstrate important life skills such as effective communication and organisation whilst learning to lead basic physical activities to younger people, their peers, older generations and within the community. The course involves both guided & peer-to-peer learning and supervised leadership to ensure that learners have all the skills they need to lead basic physical activities to other people.
